Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg quipped that if faced with a Trump presidency, her late husband would have declared, “'Now it’s time for us to move to New Zealand.’”

Over the weekend, the New York Times published an interview with Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

When asked how she felt about a Donald Trump presidency, she quipped that if faced with such a reality, her late husband would have declared, “‘Now it’s time for us to move to New Zealand.’”

On a more serious note, Ginsburg added, "I can’t imagine what this place would be — I can’t imagine what the country would be — with Donald Trump as our president.”

She said. “For the country, it could be four years. For the court, it could be — I don’t even want to contemplate that.”

She pointed out the next president has the potential to make a number of Supreme Court Justice nominations.

Not only is President Obama’s pending nomination being ignored by the Senate, a number of justices are getting on in years.

As for Ginsburg, she says she intends to stick around for, “as long as I can do it full steam.”
