The U.S. Air Force has achieved the record for the world’s fastest land speed on a maglev rail.

The U.S. Air Force has achieved the record for the world’s fastest land speed on a maglev rail. 
The event occurred on March 4, 2016 when members of the 846th Test Squadron launched a magnetically levitated sled at 633 miles per hour. 
The Holloman Air Force Base, where the 2,100-foot-long track is located, recently posted a video of the launch on YouTube.
