He dreamed of owning his own business one day and after 15 years earning his education in the United States, he returned to his hometown to found Caricom General Insurance Company, a licensed insurance firm that provided financial planning products as well as insurance policies. One of the financial products that Safeek introduced was bond underwriting. He is now the Chairman of Safeco Holdings in Georgetown.
