An unknown assailant shot an opossum twice with a crossbow in California. The animal, however, seems intent to live through the cruel ordeal.

One opossum in California is no exception—with that instinct to persevere, pushing it past the horror of being shot twice by a crossbow.
A Facebook post by Riverside County Animal Services noted, "One arrow penetrated the animal near its right eye and followed through the other side of its head. The second arrow went through its right side and also penetrated the other side of the animal."
Discovered by an officer with the animal services group after responding to a call, the opossum was rushed to an emergency room.
