NASA's New Horizons spacecraft has once again returned a stunning image of the dwarf planet.
A new image from NASA's New Horizons expedition shows the intricacy of the Plutonian plains—deep in the heart of Pluto's so-called "heart feature."
The top left of the image shows a cell-like pattern which NASA describes as "enigmatic."
The lower left up to the top right of the image shows scores of pits and troughs, small but plentiful, many of the deeper indentations compacted together into a sight akin to a "woodworm-infested log," according to Discovery News.
The unofficial name for the area on display is the Sputnik Planum and the region is believed to be
