Walnut Creek police department released CCTV footage on April 3 of three men stealing an ATM from a petrol station on the same day of the robbery. One of the suspects distracted the attendant, appearing to hold his arm high to the glass to prevent them from seeing the second suspect attaching a hook to an outdoor ATM machine. The third suspect, who was driving the vehicle, then yanked the ATM from its mount by accelerating the car with vigour.
