Pet safety methods for this 4th of July

This could be a great time to remind everyone that more pets try to escape around the 4th of July way more than on another day.

Pets go through the world through their senses: smell, hearing, sight, taste, and touch. Because fireworks are towards the ground and so are together with loud noise, flashes of sunshine and burning odors, they often cause pets being fearful and trigger their flight mechanism.

Please ensure that all pets are kept indoors within a safe area and that they are wearing identification using your current contact details. Make sure to keep all windows, doors, doggy doors/cat flaps, etc. closed.

Close curtains and blinds and have fun playing the TV, music or white noise to assist mask the fireworks' sounds and light flashes.
