Mumbai: The imported coal, dumped by trucks on port land after arriving at Haji Bunder, is meant mainly for Mahagenco power plants, but is exacting a high cost on the health of residents nearby, students of India's premier maritime college, and on marine life. The people have persistent cough, chronic respiratory problems, coal dust in their lungs and even tuberculosis.
