Buckingham Palace ammo probe: Royal protection officer arrested

2015-04-14 1 Dailymotion

A Royal Protection officer has been arrested after investigators found ammunition in personal lockers inside Buckingham Palace.

The officer arrested is a member of the Royal Protection unit (SO14), although he is not assigned to guard any individual member of the Royal Family, the Telegraph reported.

The ammunition, believed to be from the Metropolitan Police’s own supplies, was found inside the palace’s police station during a search of the officers’ personal lockers a few weeks ago, reported the Telegraph.

Investigators have searched the officer’s home and the officer was taken into custody on Thursday night. He is being questioned on suspicion of misconduct in public office and unlawful possession of ammunition, the Guardian reported.
