Italian sport climbing maestro Stefano Ghisolfi has arrived in Red River Gorge with one goal in mind, to climb as many of the Red's hardest routes as possible. Sefano will only achieve his goal if he brings his A-game to one of America’s most vaunted climbing areas. Its steep sandstone walls and bullet-hard crimp lines have made it a go-to destination for climbers from around the world.
Despite visiting the area out of season and facing the constant threat of rain, Stefano is undeterred, seeking out dry rock on some of the region's steepest crags. His battle with the weather is to be a frought one, but not without success. He makes short work of the Red's hardest route 'Southern Smoke Direct' (9a/5.14d) before putting in a sterling onsight attempt on the stunning classic 'Pure Imagination' (8c+/5.14c).
