The Idea of these kind of system is found on UNIX, however does not contain any code from UNIX.
I have personally not used AIX's SMIT but have read on it and saw screen shots of it.
SCO UNIX's Sco admin is written in Visual TCL and the language most of this is in python or shell depends of part the programs.
I do some programming from Work which is why I prefer python as it is used on the computers at work as well as home.
Dialog & C compilers does not exist on the macs at work.
I 1st saw a menu system of this kind on SCO UNIX when playing with the UNIX OS in the VM. I Still have it in virtualbox and was curious what it was written in. It starts with #!/bin/osavtcl which I believe is a SCO specific or commercial UNIX thing.
AIX's Smit I am not sure what is written in but believed to be a script to draw up a menu and TUIS
HPUX's Sam, I didn't check when I had a HPUX machine before it died.
This has been included in to Ez-Arch, its not fully complete as this will improve as the distro goes out.
