According to industry sources who have shared details about Samsung’s plans to Business Korea, the company is working on a revamped UI for the Galaxy S6 and is looking at getting rid of all the bloatware and unnecessary features that are currently found on Samsung Galaxy smart phones. Samsung is looking at bringing Touch Wiz down to Google Nexus 6 levels of simplicity and is likely to not include the multitude of additional features that have so far made Touch Wiz one of the heaviest custom Android skins out there.

As Samsung tries to battle the decreasing sales of its flagship smart phones, it looks like the South Korean tech giant doesn’t wish to leave any stone unturned to make sure the Galaxy S6 will be the most impressive flagship smart phone of the year. Along with the cheap-feeling build and uninspiring design, Touch Wiz was one of the main reasons behind the lackluster sales of the Galaxy S5 last year. The smart phone industry is one of the most important businesses for Samsung and brings the most revenue and profits to Samsung Corporation. If sales continue to plummet, Samsung’s profitability in the long term may be at risk. This is the reason why the success of the Galaxy S6 is extremely critical to Samsung.
