The People's Summit began today in Lima, Peru under the slogan "Change the system, not the climate". It is an event that is parallel to and at the same time seeks to influence the UN Climate Change Conference currently underway in the Peruvian capital. Civil society organizations are participating in the parallel summit, and are more critical of capitalism, believing that reforms are not enough without deep changes also been made.
