Chile is one of the few Latin American countries where abortion is completely illegal, even in cases of rape or serious health risks to the mother. After a 13-year old rape victim was forced to give birth to fetus that couldn't survive, debate on the issue has been reignited. The Chilean congress will discuss the issue tomorrow and is expected to enact legislation by end of January that would allow abortions under certain extenuating circumstances. teleSUR
