My thoughts are twisted
This shouldn't be
I never meant for this
My emotions are too strong
Save me from myself
I couldn't even say the words
Life crumbled before my eyes
My only road to happiness
I cut off from your love
Crowded my mind with silly things
Thought I found love again
To my innocence I held on tight
Saving myself for your return
But like winter over fall's bright colors
My battle was wholly lost
I have nothing left to give you
But the memories we shared
Life's lessons are never easy
But love's, I always fail
For first love is the truest love
No matter how they end
But each one dreams of going back
And I am no exception
I pray some day you'll see my face
And realize what you missed
Come back to me, my dear
