This is dedicated to the second in our line.. with love, from the last in line.
She smiled and joked
Quick to comment, ready to poke,
Crazy things she’s done
So funny – second to none
Then she’d close the door at night
Tucked away, out of sight
Cried so hard, wanted to die
Thoughts not as scary as giving a try
Years gone by and she has grown
Knows love, loss, and what it’s like on her own
I’ve cried for her years so bitter
Gave her hugs, told her I love her
‘Cause she’s my big sister
I pray she still knows I’m always near
I may not be close by, but still for her there’s always an ear
Know I love you, sis, and I understand your pain
But know also I will be around for when you can (truly) smile again.
