This is for you my gentle flower
whose petals I stole and crushed
Leaving you naked and exposed.
An act of selish mortal lust.
Those soft scented petals
taken without a thought or care
Stipped of your enchanting beauty
upon a bed of grass you stood bare.
How strange you looked;
Like a head without a face.
Useless now, the insects moved on
Looking for other petals to taste.
Once a delicate dancer
now a lonely senseless stem.
Outshone by those around you
like a ring without its gem.
A month and a full moon or two
later, I returned to the place of pillage;
There you stood in defiant beauty-
The queen of the flowered village.
Sensing your fear and unease
I decided to admire from afar
This time my sweet little flower
I shall watch you like a star.
