¡Sorpréndeme!

Roger A. Rose - To my sister on the death of our father

2014-10-29 8 Dailymotion

We watched him in the stark room.
Our vigil.
Mother stayed through the day,
we by night.

We saw as the nurse turned the sheet.
Gangrened feet,
spotted with white blisters.
Ragged breath.

We knew his spirit was leaving.
Blessed sleep.
There was no pain for him.
Then he passed.

We held each other in the hall.
Vigil done.
Wept in each others arms.
Dad was gone.
