The voice inside my head
Knows nothing of silence,
Even as I struggle to suppress
All of my warped anxieties.
The thoughts make clanging
Sounds as they march around
In my head, disturbing
What should have been my peace.
I thought, in truth, that really
It didn't matter if we were not
Together...yet, here I am,
With a million scenarios
Invading my space because you
Are strutting about, somewhere,
Flaunting your independence
Without me and the silent
Telephone is too loud,
And this night is too long!
The voice inside my head screams
At a fever's pitch!
Stop!
