A U.S. journalist missing since 2012 is now free.
Peter Theo Curtis was released by kidnappers in Syria Sunday to a United Nations representative.
Qatari-owned Al Jazeera first reported the release, which was confirmed by the U.N. and the U.S.
His release comes days after the Islamic State militant group released video showing the execution of American journalist James Foley.
The same video also included a threat to kill another American journalist being held hostage, Steven Sotloff.
The Committee to Protect Journalists estimates that about 20 journalists are missing in Syria.
