The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is steadfastly gaining popularity. Now even the Presidents are getting in on the action. George W. Bush was recently called out by his daughter Jenna Bush Hager.
PGA Champion Rory McIlroy, San Francisco 49er’s Coach Jim Harbaugh and New York Jets owner Woody Johnson also challenged him. Bush wanted to just write a check to the ALS Association, but his wife, Laura, wasn't keen on letting him skip the ice-cold water part.
Bush started out his speech by telling all his challengers that he didn’t think it was presidential for him to be splashed with ice water. As he busted out his pen to make out the check, Laura snuck up behind him and dumped the cold water over his head with a big smile plastered on her face.
She then told everyone that check would be for her because she didn’t want to ruin her hairstyle. When it was all said and done, Bush called out his White House predecessor Bill Clinton to take part in the Ice Bucket challenge.
He stated “Yesterday was Bill's birthday. My gift to Bill is a bucket of cold water."
