ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
Time lapse video filmed on Monday (July 14) captures the moment the Costa Concordia began floating off its temporary platform, and how far the wreck was towed from the coastline of Giglio island by salvage teams.
Filmed from before dawn as the refloating operation got underway, the video shows the wreck of the cruise liner sitting more squarely in the water.
Filmed again at 0830-1200GMT, the huge hulk of the Concordia zig-zagged away from its former resting place. Tiny tugs have been hauling the 114,500 tonne ship seaward, 30 meters from shore.
It is expected to take at least another five days of work before the ship will be ready to be towed to the port of Genoa to be scrapped.
