Yasmeen Khan - The Ebb and Flow

2014-06-17 27 Dailymotion

I heard a sound when waters were tranquil
Currents drifting from where the sea
Meets the sky that stands still,
Taking the shores in birthing foams;
Silences dissolved in the rushing sounds
Waves caressed the shore, winds roam,
Horizon kissed by the sun
And a boat long harboured on the beach
Was drenched in the surging run.

Now the sea is backing, waves recede
Ebb’s whispers, muffled confessions
Of the beach, sighs freed,
Vast stretches lie grey and empty
Strewn with glistening shingles
And resonating shells from the sea

The ocean’s rhythms, rolling harmonies
Magnetized waters surge and wane
Moments serene and cacophonies
Riding high and feet on the ground
Like life events ocean’s ebb and flow
Bring beautiful things from the depths unbound.
