I grew up in the country
And it’s the place I love
Fresh air to breathe
Close to God up above
I love to grow plants
Flowers and such
Wake up at dawn
To a soft morning hush
Hear the sound of birds
And bugs buzzin’ ‘round
There are times as well
When there’s not a sound
I hear the birds in the evening
Settle in for the night
Tiny chirps up in the leaves
What a precious delight
If you’ve only lived in the city
Why not give it a whirl
Take a bit of advice
From this country girl!
