Norman Rockwell is an artist of distinction
He had a flair for capturing common emotion
Feelings of when he was living and observing
American moments he was masterfully preserving
As a brilliant illustrator of magazine covers
The values of everyday life were in his endeavors
‘Boy’s Life, ' 'The Saturday Evening Post' and 'Look'
Carefully planned canvases of snapshots he took
Productively portraying the good old days…
Colorful details depicting occupation and play
Later in his life Norman was tied and bound
Influenced by war and the intolerance he found
With brush in hand he examined human cruelty
Placing emphasis on values of freedom and equality
Each stroke conveyed consciousness and awareness
Marking portions of time with optimism and fairness
