I never knew the time would come
When I would have to say goodbye
And trust me it hurts to say those words
So instead I will stand and weep
Into the cloudy mist
That no one can see
I tremble and fall
Into the muddy earth
But still no one can see
How much I care
Those words will break me up
One by one
Pulling me into complete darkness
All alone just waiting
Waiting for those words
To creep out on me
I never knew
How much it scares me
To be alone in a strangers place
Because when I leave
That’s how I’ll feel
I never thought
What it would do to you
But once I heard your voice
Convincing me it’s ok
You will never leave
You will always be there
But in my heart
It made me feel stronger
It gave me all the confidence
And courage I needed
To let you go and say the words
So here it goes
Goodbye my friend
I will be thinking of you always
