Facebook should get some serious credit for helping people in dire situations. Such was the case for a couple Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, whose newborn daughter was abducted out of a hospital.
Not long after baby Victoria was snatched by a woman dressed as a nurse, police issued an Amber Alert, complete with a surveillance photo of the suspect, and the family’s story began spreading on Facebook.
Four 20-year-olds, Charlène Plante, Marc-André Côté along with Mélizanne and Sharelle Bergeron got wind of the news and decided to play detective. They got into a car and searched for the suspects red vehicle.
As they cruised around, Mélizanne showed her friends the photo of the alleged abductor. Amazingly Plante recognized the woman as her former neighbor.
Immediately the group went to her old apartment complex. They saw a red Toyota with a ‘Baby on Board’ sticker and notified police of the license plate.
Cops broke down the door and in the blink of an eye, they were holding the unharmed baby Victoria. The suspect was taken to the hospital for unknown reasons, but police plan on interviewing her as soon as possible.
The mother of Victoria has since taken to Facebook to thank the four amateur sleuths who helped bring her baby back home.
