ATandT Buys Direct TV in $48.5 Billion Deal in Cash and Stocks

Telecommunications giant ATandT has agreed to purchase Direct TV in $48.5 billion deal. The agreement would close within the next 12 months with ATandT also taking on a lot of Direct TV's debt. The FCC still needs to approve the purchase.
