A bear seems to have developed quite a fondness for one particular ski resort. Back on March 3rd, the bear was found at Heavenly Mountain Resort near Lake Tahoe.
He wasn’t in the best shape then, as he was underweight and hurt. The ski patrol transported him down the mountain and he was then taken to Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care, a specialized facility in the state of California.
He was nursed back to health for about 6 weeks and given the fitting name of 'Heavenly' before being released back into the wild.
Shortly after being dropped off in the wild, he showed up once again at the same ski resort. Staffers from Nevada Fish and Game Department trapped him.
Heavenly was transported back to Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care. Employees there no longer believe they will be able to release him into the wild. They suspect he was fed by people before he was rescued and that ultimately killed any chances he had of surviving on his own.
The Bear League and Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care are now working to relocate him to a reputable bear sanctuary.
