So you may or may not know it, but the two most widely spoken languages in the world are Chinese and English, yet the two couldn’t be more different. So for English speaking children trying to learn Chinese or Chinese speaking children trying to learn English, I recently came across a great iPad app called Learn With Miaomiao. The app walks children through 30 different words in both languages, explaining the meaning of each through animations that help them remember. The game has two interactive sections, learning to read and learning to write. The reading portion takes children through three different themes: people, nature, and animals, and shows them a Chinese character that transforms into a picture of its meaning– lets say a Kebab. Then there’s the writing section, which helps children remember specific strokes and the order of strokes to write Chinese symbols. So if you want to learn more or download the app for $2.99, head to http://learnwithmiaomiao.com today.
