According to the memory of most, the northern Russian locale has never experienced a phenomenon quite like this.

Typically, by this time of year the rivers are frozen solid enough to park a truck on and the ground is blanketed in white.

This year, however, the water is flowing freely and the grass can still be seen beneath the light dusting of snow.

Temperatures have risen from the usual 8 degrees Fahrenheit to a relatively balmy 25.

Even in the northernmost reaches, where moderate is considered 50 below Fahrenheit, the temps are up over 20 degrees.

Environmentalists aren’t as upbeat about the drastic changes in weather.

They predict in the near future there will be days of extreme heat, droughts, and wildfires.

Further, the area will likely become the new home to a bevy of strange and unusual insects.

What do you think about the lack of snow in Siberia this season?
