Police in Atlantic City, New Jersey are absolutely baffled about a recent shooting. Investigators were alerted of the potential crime after a 30-year-old man fell to the ground in the driveway of a local medical facility.

He had reportedly driven himself to the hospital after being shot in the face. The male arrived there shortly after 11 on a Sunday night.

Thankfully he was taken into the establishment and treated for the wound on his cheek. But here’s the major problem – the alleged victim’s story hasn’t exactly been the same throughout police rounds of questioning.

Adding to the mystery is that no gunshots in the local area were reported and a system called ShotSpotter failed to pick up any firearm discharges. Although the man’s vehicle was seized for forensic testing, cops are starting to wonder if the shooting happened in the city.

No weapon has yet to be found. No suspects were named or charges filed, but police are asking public members for any information that will help them determine what exactly happened.

Witnesses are urged to contact the Atlantic City police directly or submit a tip through Crime Stoppers.
