He did this because i have never had a credit card before and he said that this could help build my credit. Being a joint applicant isn't the same as being a primary cardholder. Because as a joint applicant, Best Buy got my SSN and DOB on the application. Now my uncle has lost his job and is in extreme debt from other credit cards and is probably going to file for bankruptcy. If he does file for bankruptcy will my credit be affected because I am a joint applicant on one of his cards? -
