All parents have absentminded moments here and there. Usually it’s nothing to feel too bad about.
Unfortunately that wasn’t the case for one couple, who was in such a rush to catch their flight, they hopped out of a taxi and completely forgot about their sleeping 5 -year-old child. They left him behind in the cab at Dubai International Airport.
As part of the mad dash, the pair hurriedly removed their bags from the trunk of the taxi and headed into the airport. But a nagging feeling caught up with them at the boarding pass counter and they realized their terrible mistake.
The Dubai police were alerted of the situation and the taxi driver was found thanks to CCTV footage that showed which vehicle dropped the couple off. The operator of the cab reportedly had no idea the little boy had been left behind in the backseat.
He returned to the airport about two hours after leaving. Amazingly the child remained asleep during the entire journey.
The boy was handed over to his father, but it was not immediately clear if the parents would face any criminal charges or punishment for their mistake.
