Its now just over two years since South Sudan gained independence from its northern neighbour. But the transition to self-rule hasn't proved simple, and frustrations are growing at the lack of progress, and at the failings of the nascent democracy. Human rights organisations have condemned arbitrary arrests and other abuses committed by the security forces. The situation is underlined by a growing wave of intimidation aimed at journalists.
