A man in Tennessee was recently killed by his own spouse 15 minutes after he was released from jail. Robert Vann Marshall had been arrested for threatening to kill his wife and children.
A man in Tennessee was recently killed by his own spouse less than 15 minutes after he was released from jail. Robert Vann Marshall had been arrested for threatening to kill his wife and children.
Officers claimed Marshall had firearms and narcotics in his possession at the time of the arrest.
There was also an active order of protection against him, prohibiting Marshall from having contact with his wife, Melissa. He was detained at 8:30 on a Saturday morning and after making bond, Marshall was released at 1:27 p.m. on the same day.
Exactly 11 minutes later, at 1:38 p.m., his wife, Melissa Marshall called 911 and told operators that her husband was attempting to break into the house.
While police were en route, Melissa told dispatchers her husband forced his way into the home and she had shot him. Cops arrived at the residence and the suspect was lying in a bedroom with a fatal wound to his chest.
No charges were filed against Melissa, as it looked to be a legitimate case of self-defense.
