The impeachment case of former Philippine Chief Justice Renato Corona was hounded by a lot of controversy. Chief Justice Renato Puno was to retire on May 17, 2010, seven days after the 2010 presidential elections. However, the constitution prohibits then-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo from appointing anyone two months before the presidential election up to the end of her term. However, Corona was appointed Chief Justice on May 12, 2010 on the grounds that he was the "most senior" Supreme Court justice among the other nominees. Cheche Lazaro further studies the conflicting political issues with the current Aquino administration and Corona’s stiff hold on his position. I was Assistant Producer and Story Researcher for this episode. My role is spread out from pre-production (sourcing out interviewees, plotting narrative, etc) to production (camera handling, assisting cameramen) to post-production (ingestion of materials, cutting of talk points, syncing and levelling of audio, etc/)
