For The Long Glance, I stood and stared at the Jackson Pollock painting Convergence: Number 10, 1952 for forty hours. The performance took the duration of one workweek, staged in the public galleries of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo over five eight-hour days. With just incremental movement and changes in posture, I stood silently as the life of the museum unfolded around me. This clip documents several minutes of the performance, composited from multiple days.
